Payment
Payment is by taximeter. In Turkey, city or province authorities set taxi fares. The Antalya taxi fare was last fixed in February 2020 and published in the official fare regulation.
It is binding for all taxis and taxi companies within the travel area and may neither be exceeded nor undercut.
This is ensured with officially calibrated taximeters installed in the taxis. As a rule, you can see this in electronic form on the driver's rear-view mirror.
Payment is usually in cash, although some taxis accept credit cards. In the case of non-cash payment, an identity document must be shown at the driver's request. The passenger is entitled to a receipt.
Language
Most taxi drivers speak little or no English. If you are lucky, you may come across a driver who once lived in Germany and even knows German.
Destination Address
Due to possible communication difficulties, it's advisable to write your destination address on a piece of paper and show it to the driver.
Indicating a major landmark such as a tourist attraction near the desired destination is very helpful, as well as indicating the neighborhood.

Tariffs
- Basic fee: The base charge is 5.50 Turkish Lira, the kilometer rate is 4.00 Turkish Lira.
- Night tariff: There is no night tariff in Antalya, the same rate applies 24 hours a day.
- Short Distance: Short trips cost 9.50 Turkish Lira, which allows you to travel approximately 1 kilometer. All journeys shorter than this are charged at this flat rate.

Taxi to the Airport - Antalya International Airport
A taxi ride from the center of Antalya to the airport costs around 80 Turkish Lira, depending on where exactly you get in or out.
You will be charged by taximeter and there are no additional fees.
Obligation to Carry
There is an obligation to transport as long as it is within the city area. Dvery passenger must be driven to any desired destination. The taxi driver is obliged to take the shortest and therefore cheapest route, unless a different route has been agreed.
Smoking Ban
There is a general ban on smoking in taxis for drivers and passengers.
Tipping
Tipping is not a must, but you can round up to the nearest ten, especially if the driver has helped with the luggage.

Taxi App
You can order a taxi online with various taxi apps. The best known is BiTaksi. In these taxis, you can usually also pay without cash. iTaksi is also frequently used.
Pre-Ordering a Taxi
Of course, you can also book a taxi in advance, either by phone or by mobile phone app. Your hotel will also be happy to help you book a taxi.
Uber
Uber has its headquarters in San Francisco, USA. It is a US-based service company that provides transportation services online in many cities around the world. As of May 31, 2019, Uber was banned in Antalya and no longer offers its services.
