Antalya has a unique geography with lovely nature, majestic mountains, and a magnificent sea. Tünektepe is a beautiful hill terrace at 618 meters (2009 feet) above sea level, where the Bey Mountains meet the Mediterranean Sea.
One of the best ways to observe Antalya from a high spot is to get a ride on the Tünektepe Cable Car called the Tünektepe Teleferik in Turkish. You should definitely add Tünektepe to your route as it's the best attraction in Antalya. You will see a spectacular view of Antalya and get fresh air with the scent pine trees, all while being able to take amazing pictures of the skyline.
In this article, you will find all the important information about the famous Tünektepe Cable Car.
What Can I Do at Tünektepe?
As you ascend with the Tünektepe Cable Car, you will discover an unbeatable view of the horizon of Antalya.
The cable car travels 1,706 meters in about 9 minutes to the top at Tünektepe, about 605 meters above sea level. It has 36 cabins that can hold 8 people each and it can easily carry 1,200 people per hour.
You can find restaurants and cafes at the top. Since the restaurants here are affiliated with the Municipality of Antalya, the prices are quite affordable. Bringing food from outside is not allowed.
There is a playground for children at the upper station. You can enjoy a detailed panoramic view with the coin operated binoculars.
It's better to call before you go on rainy days, since the cable car might not be operational due to bad weather conditions.

The History of the Tünektepe Cable Car
The cable car project was initiated in 2013 as a project to connect Tünektepe, the coastal hill overlooking the city of Antalya, with the Sarısu Neighborhood on the edge of the Konyaaltı district. This project cost 14 million Turkish Lira.
In 2021 they introduced 2 prices: Local paying 20 TL, tourist 10 euro. Rip off
Dear Mark,
thank you for your comment. Yes, there are two different prices, one for tourist and one for local. You should know, that for Turkish citizens, the difference is subsidised by the state to make sights more attractive also for locals. That’s the reason, why prices differ for locals and Turkish citizens.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or if something else needs clarification.
Wish you a lot of fun in Antalya, a wonderful stay in Turkey and a save fight back home.
reduces for citizens is wise thinking!
