Antalya has a unique geography with lovely nature, majestic mountains, and a magnificent sea. Tünektepe is a beautiful hill terrace at 618 meters (2009 feet) above sea level, where the Bey Mountains meet the Mediterranean Sea. 

One of the best ways to observe Antalya from a high spot is to get a ride on the Tünektepe Cable Car called the Tünektepe Teleferik in Turkish. You should definitely add Tünektepe to your route as it's the best attraction in Antalya. You will see a spectacular view of Antalya and get fresh air with the scent pine trees, all while being able to take amazing pictures of the skyline.

What Can I Do at Tünektepe?

As you ascend with the Tünektepe Cable Car, you will discover an unbeatable view of the horizon of Antalya.

The cable car travels 1,706 meters in about 9 minutes to the top at Tünektepe, about 605 meters above sea level. It has 36 cabins that can hold 8 people each and it can easily carry 1,200 people per hour. 

You can find restaurants and cafes at the top. Since the restaurants here are affiliated with the Municipality of Antalya, the prices are quite affordable. Bringing food from outside is not allowed.

There is a playground for children at the upper station. You can enjoy a detailed panoramic view with the coin operated binoculars.

It's better to call before you go on rainy days, since the cable car might not be operational due to bad weather conditions.

Entrance, Tickets, and Tours

Tünektepe Cable car is free for children under 6.

You can use your AntalyaKart to pay, which is also used for urban transportation, for the cable car.

  • Entrance : The facility is closed on Mondays. It's opening hours are between 10:00 and 18:00.

The History of the Tünektepe Cable Car

The cable car project was initiated in 2013 as a project to connect Tünektepe, the coastal hill overlooking the city of Antalya, with the Sarısu Neighborhood on the edge of the Konyaaltı district. This project cost 14 million Turkish Lira.

You should know, that for Turkish citizens, the difference is subsidised by the state to make sights more attractive also for locals. That’s the reason, why prices differ for locals and Turkish citizens.

  • Is Tunek Tepe teleferik and Olympus teleferik the same. Is Olympus 50kms further away? Which one is recommended? What is pricing for both Olympus and Tuneik teleferik for tourist in June 2022?

      thank you for reaching out and very sorry for the late reply. If you are looking for a trail near Konyaalti, go to the Tunektepe Teleferik. Here you can start hiking, you will need about 2,5 hours to the top, where you have a wonderful overview of the city of Antalya and the nearby region.

  • I am planning to visit Antalya in summer, I will be staying with my family in Altis Resort Hotel. We will take one day in town starting with Tunektepe. Please advise all possible transportation from the resort to teleferik station, then back to downtown, and last back to the resort.
