A Blue Voyage along the Lycian Coast in Antalya in a gulet is a very special vacation. Gulets are a type of motor sailboats that were made in Bodrum and Marmaris in the old days. At that time they were used to transport trade goods. Today gulets can accommodate eight to sixteen guests.
Blue Voyages are offered with yoga courses on board, with diving opportunities, and with hiking and sightseeing. Boat&Bike tours are great if you want to combine sailing with mountain biking. During the day, the impressive landscape of the Lycian coast can be explored by bike, where you will find rock tombs, ruined cities, and lonely settlements.
It's usually worth chartering a private gulet for two families or more, rather than joining one of the tours. The price is about the same and there is the possibility to set an individual route.
Due to the Mediterranean climate, the best season for climbing in Antalya begins in early September and goes until the end of May. In the summer months it's just too hot and humid.
One of the largest sport climbing areas in Turkey is located 15 kilometers from Antalya. Geyikbayırı has over 1000 routes, all professionally bolted. The rural mountain area is surrounded by olive, pomegranate, and orange groves and offers routes for all levels of climbers.
Near Olympos, in Çıralı, is another climbing area. Here there are over 250 routes in limestone with all levels of difficulty.
Çitdibi is one of the newest climbing areas in Turkey. It's located at approximately 1,000 meters above sea level and is 40 kilometers southeast of Antalya. Directly below the climbing rock and at the southern foot of the 2,649 meter high Tunç Mountain is Masal Refuge, from where the climbing routes start. There are currently 56 developed routes of varying difficulty here.
